"Dune Sea Special" was a song written some time before 3643 BBY.[3] It was an example of the yerk style of music. Figrin D'an and the Modal Nodes performed a popular cover version of the classic song.[2]
It was played by the Modal Nodes at Chalmun's Spaceport Cantina prior to the Battle of Yavin in 0 BBY (on the day Obi-Wan Kenobi and Luke Skywalker hired Han Solo) after playing "Mad About Me."[1]
Behind the scenes[]
This track was originally named "Cantina Band #2" on the soundtrack of Star Wars: Episode IV A New Hope. No in-universe name was given to it until Star Wars: The Old Republic, where it can be played in cantina jukeboxes under the name "Dune Sea Special".
