The capture beast was a Yuuzhan Vong bio-engineered war beast deployed on battlefields to capture refugees and enemy forces during the Yuuzhan Vong War. They resembled gigantic cylindrical, bristled worms and sported a pair of bioluminescent eyespots and antennae.

They scuttled forth on a hundred pairs of legs covered with organic suction cups used also to capture prisoners. When grouped together, these huge worm-like creatures formed a living perimeter around the target and moved inward slowly enough to cause fear in the huddled masses. Capture beasts were often transported to battlefields via tent-like pods.

It is unknown what became of the capture beasts after the war ended; though it can be assumed they were transplanted on Zonama Sekot or loaded onto the warships of the Yuuzhan Vong and sent crashing into Coruscant's primary. If they were taken to Zonama, it is very probable that the Shapers re-conditioned them to be harmless and productive to the planet.
