A red supergiant, Carconth was the second-largest and seventh-brightest of the known stars in the galaxy, being five hundred times as large and a hundred thousand times as bright as Coruscant Prime. At the time of the Black Fleet crisis, the Astrographic Survey Institute and its predecessors had been maintaining supernova watch at Carconth for more than six hundred years. Carconth was the site of NRI Anomaly 1033, theorised to be something left behind by a past alien expedition to Carconth.
