"It's not ersatz. Just sort of auxiliary. For morale purposes, the Alliance needed a visible Rogue Squadron, while you were off playing pirate.[…]We brought in some Rogue Squadron veterans—Riemann, Scotian, Carithlee, several more—and a couple of new pilots each out of Gauntlet and Corsair Squadrons. Now that you're back, they all return to their original units."
―Derek Klivian, to Wedge Antilles[src]

Carithlee was a starfighter pilot and a veteran member of the elite Rogue Squadron at some point before 7 ABY. When a temporary Rogue Squadron was formed during the real squadron's fight against Imperial leader Ysanne Isard on Thyferra, Carithlee was chosen to be among its ranks. After members of the original Rogue Squadron returned to their duties, Carithlee and other pilots of the ersatz unit returned to their previous assignments.

Carithlee was a starfighter pilot and a member of the elite[1] Rebel Alliance[2] and New Republic unit Rogue Squadron at some point during the Galactic Civil War. By 7 ABY, the pilot—considered one of the squadron's veterans—had been transferred away from the Rogues.[1] After the galactic capital of Coruscant was liberated from the Imperial control,[3] the Imperial ruler Ysanne Isard retreated to the planet Thyferra, leading the entire Rogue Squadron led by Wedge Antilles to resign their commissions to wage an unsanctioned war against Isard.[4] In the Rogues' absence, the New Republic formed an ersatz Rogue Squadron to maintain morale.[1]

The fake squadron was led by Lieutenant Derek Klivian, and among its ranks were many former Rogues, including Carithlee. After Antilles successfully defeated Isard, he and the rest of the real Rogue Squadron accepted to return to New Republic service, leaving Carithlee and the other members of the ersatz squadron to return to their previous assignments. The ersatz squadron greeted Antilles and his men upon their return to Coruscant and even engaged them in a friendly competition of precision flying through the city-planet's streets. During this time, Antilles toyed with an idea of creating a new starfighter-commando unit, which would eventually be dubbed Wraith Squadron. Klivian provided Antilles with personnel files of his temporary squadron for inspection and possible inclusion into the new unit. Carithlee, however, was not chosen by Antilles.[1]

Behind the scenesEdit

Carithlee was briefly mentioned in X-Wing: Wraith Squadron, a 1998 novel by Aaron Allston. Neither Carithlee's species nor gender was established in the novel.
