The Carpastor system was a star system that was located in the Rolion sector, within the Outer Rim Territories[1] and Trans-Hydian regions.[2] The system was the location of the phenomenon known as the Carpastor Comet Swarm.[3][4]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Carpastor system was established in the Online Companion to[1] the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas,[5] which placed the system in grid square Q-7.[1]

  2. 2.0 2.1 SWCustom-2011 Star Wars: The Essential Atlas Online Appendix on StarWars.com (article) (backup link) places the Carpastor system in grid square Q-7. The Essential Atlas depicts territory falling in that grid square as being located in either the Trans-Hydian region (spinward from the Perlemian Trade Route super-hyperroute) or the Slice (trailing from the Perlemian). Since the Online Companion also places the system within the Rolion sector, which is located spinward from the Perlemian, it therefore must also be part of the Trans-Hydian.

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Carpastor Comet Swarm in relation to the Carpastor system.
