Cartann was the largest of the nation-states on Adumar, controlling over half of the planet's landmass. Its Perator was Pekaelic ke Teldan until 13 ABY, when his eldest son Balass ke Teldan took the throne. It also possessed a large air force consisting mainly of modern Blade-32 superiority fighters. Its capital was Cartann City. It was overthrown by the Yedagon Confederacy.

In 40 ABY, Jacen Solo and Ben Skywalker visited the Dammant Killers missile factory in Cartann, where they discovered that the company was overproducing so as to sell large amounts of missiles to parties outside the Galactic Alliance.
