The Celestine was a droid legend—a starship-droid hybrid. It was a large warship designed to be operated only by droids. It was equipped with one of the largest and most highly advanced droid brains of its era. After departing the shipyard where it was built, with a great deal of bravado, the ship jumped to hyperspace, but never arrived at its programmed destination.

There was no official record of the Celestine ever being commissioned, yet its legend was perpetuated in stories told by spacers who claimed to have seen it jumping to lightspeed. Some even boasted to have seen the vessel while they themselves were traveling through hyperspace. It was believed that seeing the warship in the midst of battle was a bad omen.
