The Chandrilan Embassy,[3] also known as the Mothma household,[4] was the permanent representation of Chandrila to the Galactic Empire on the planet Coruscant. Additionally, the embassy served as the Coruscant residence of the Chandrilan senator Mon Mothma, her husband Perrin Fertha,[1] and their daughter, Leida.[5]

The embassy had white walls and several small potted trees. The apartment also had a large dining room and a living room,[1] capable of hosting many guests.[2] Several parties were hosted by Mothma and Fertha in the embassy, including dinner for the governor of Hanna City, who was an old friend of Fertha's.[1]

Behind the scenes[]

"And so [Luke Hull and I] were always working together. I think you can see it really clearly in places like the embassy where Mon Mothma is just a beautiful sea of creams, and ivories, and oyster tones, and it came together really nicely."
―Michael Wilkinson[6]

The Chandrilan Embassy was first pictured in the teaser trailer for the Andor television series, which was released on May 26, 2022.[7] It first appeared in "Aldhani," the fourth episode of the series,[1] which aired on September 28, 2022.[8] It was first identified in the audio description of "Narkina 5,"[3] the eighth episode of the series,[9] which aired on October 26, 2022.[8]

Scenes in the embassy were filmed in a practically built set.[10] Production designer Luke Hull and costume designer Michael Wilkinson worked on the set together.[6] VFX producer TJ Falls and the crew built a specific LED screen using StageCraft technology, and it was wrapped around the embassy.[10] Wilkinson made Mothma's costume seem like part of the set.[6]
