Chantu Solk was an old acquaintance of Lando Calrissian. He was a shrewd starship broker who made his fortune during the Galactic Civil War, playing both sides when necessary, but favoring the Rebel Alliance. Eventually he grew very sick. With only a few months to live, he entered into a bond with the life-bearer Karia Ver Seryan and lived comfortably for three more years under her Support. Lando, unaware of Karia's true nature, approached her with a marriage proposal five years later.
