The chawix were small plants native to the planet Ansion. They had many thorns, which in proximity to flesh, extended and filled with a powerful nerve poison. The chawix would insert these thorns into its prey and inject the poison, killing the individual in minutes, and turn the flesh to liquid. They then would feed by sucking the fluid into themselves through the thorns. They occupied the gourds in the mountains and used the winds to travel.
