Chedak Communications was a communications corporation and later news corporation, specializing in shipboard subspace radios, comlinks and holoprojectors. Chedak made a great deal of credits selling to the entertainment industry, but when the Galactic Empire came down on the media, Chedak started losing profit. Nevertheless, Chedak continued onward, and during the early years of the New Republic, they had branched out into news reporting, covering the Galactic Civil War on the front lines of battlefields.
