Chee nuts were a type of nut that turned a deep gray-green color when they became ripe. In the year 19 BBY, the Jedi Knight Jax Pavan was aware of the coloration of the ripened nuts. That year, during a duel with a fallen Jedi turned bounty hunter named Aurra Sing, Pavan noticed that Sing's green lightsaber caused the skin of the Gray Paladin Laranth Tarak to appear the same color as ripe chee nuts.^[1]

Chee nuts were first mentioned in Coruscant Nights II: Street of Shadows, a 2008 novel written by Michael Reaves.^[1]
