The Cheku system was a star system that was located within the Brevost sector, a part of the Expansion Region[1] and the Trailing Sectors region.[2] It was the origin point of the group known as the Chekut.[3][4]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Cheku system was first mentioned in the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas, written by Jason Fry and Daniel Wallace, which placed the system in grid square O-15. Within the book, the Cheku system was erroneously placed in grid square O-14 on a map depicting the events of the Confederation–Galactic Alliance War.[2]

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Chekut in relation to the Cheku system.
