Eekway converses with Baron Papanoida outside Chancellor Palpatine's private box at the Galaxies Opera House.

Eekway was a member of the inner circle of loyalists that advised Chancellor Palpatine during the trying times of war and she became increasingly concerned with the Chancellor's increasing emergency powers. She was among the senators who were determined to preserve democracy.

It was rumored that she had close contact with the mysterious Baron N. Papanoida. Some whispered that Eekway was merely Papanoida's puppet in the Senate, peddling his influence through a clever front. Another tale, never proven, was that Papanoida's interest in Eekway was strictly familial, and that the Senator had blood ties to the enigmatic Baron. Eekway did contact Papanoida at the Galaxies Opera House during the performance of Squid Lake to receive important information for the Loyalists. She was accompanied by her friend and advisor Terr Taneel, who was actually keeping a close eye on Eekway; Taneel secretly harbored fears Eekway had ambitions to politically outshine her.
