The chromosphere was a layer of atmosphere of a star. It laid between the photosphere and the corona. Magnetic loops sometimes occurred in the chromosphere and stellar flares were formed here. In 3,986 BBY, Vima Sunrider hijacked an ion mining ship from Exis Station and flew it perilously close to the chromosphere of a nearby star.
