The Cleansing of Kashyyyk was one of the last skirmishes of the Great Hunt. Earlier, the Jedi Enclave on Dantooine had secretly dispatched Guun Han Saresh, Shaela Nuur, and Duron Qel-Droma to Korriban and Kashyyyk to kill the terentateks there. Saresh—who abandoned the other two, believing their love for each other would lead to the dark side—left for Kashyyyk alone to complete the mission. However, he failed, for he was killed in his first encounter with one of the beasts. Qel-Droma and his lover Nuur were slain shortly after back on Korriban.

In 3,956 BBY, Revan killed the terentatek and recovered Guun Han's journal and the Circlet of Saresh from the terentatek's corpse.
