Clone Commander, also known as clone trooper commander, was a rank in the Grand Army of the Republic and was conferred upon clone troopers who each led a large number of fellow troops into combat. Clone Commanders were often in direct contact with, and received orders from, the Jedi who directed them.[20] Commander CC-2224, nicknamed "Cody," was a clone marshal commander[21] in the 212th Attack Battalion.[20] Near the end of the Clone Wars, several Clone Commanders were ordered by Chancellor Sheev Palpatine[6] to betray and kill their commanding Jedi.[20]
