The Flame troopers were those clone troopers that specialized in the use of heavy Republic flamethrowers as well as other incendiary weapons. Flame troopers wore specialized armor designed to counter heat that they were often in. They were present during the Second Battle of Geonosis.

During the Second Battle of Geonosis, a squad of clone troopers and flame troopers led by Jedi General Ki-Adi-Mundi, while initially stranded, were successful in reaching the landing zone, thanks in part to the deployment of flame troopers to combat the Geonosians.
