The Clysm system was a star system located within the D'Astan sector of the Outer Rim Territories[1] and the New Territories.[2] It shared its name with the Clysm Fleet.[3][4]

Behind the scenesEdit

The Clysm system was established in the Online Companion to[1] the 2009 reference book The Essential Atlas,[5] which placed the system in grid square O-5.[1]

It also depicts territory falling in that grid square as being located in either the New Territories region of the galaxy (spinward from the Hydian Way super-hyperroute) or the Trans-Hydian region (trailing from the Hydian Way). Since the Online Companion places the Ethrani system within the Sprizen sector, which is located spinward from the Hydian Way, it therefore must also be part of the New Territories.

Jason Fry, co-author of The Essential Atlas, stated his intention to create homeworlds for numerous species based on context implied from their names. Given this principle, this article makes a similar basic assumption for the Clysm Fleet in relation to the Clysm system.
