Biography

Like the majority of his colleagues, Codi Ty was discovered at birth to be Force-sensitive by doctors on his homeworld. When they notified the Jedi Order of his sensitivity, the Acquisition Division dispatched a recruiter to test the infant. Passing, Ty was inducted into the Order's academy on Coruscant and began training in a clan. After successfully graduating from the academy, Ty was selected by Jedi Master B'dard Tone as a Padawan following the death of Tone's first student, Zephata'ru'tor at the Battle of Nadiem.[1]
With the Clone Wars well under way Ty was made a Commander within the Grand Army of the Republic and. along with his master, became greatly concerned with the Jedi High Council's seeming inaction in regards to General Grievous and his slaughter of several Jedi. In 20 BBY, Ty and his master approached Padawan Flynn Kybo at the Coruscant Temple to ask for help in tracking and assassinating Grievous. Having lost his master, T'chooka D'oon, to the cyborg, Kybo quickly agreed to go against the direct order of the High Council and rendezvous with the duo on Bryndar. Ty spent the next few weeks on the planet with Tone and Kybo, waiting for word on the General's location. When a spacer revealed Grievous was on the moon Belsus in the Anoat system, the trio quickly departed with the goal of killing Grievous and rescuing the Jedi Initiates he was rumored to be holding prisoner.[1]

Arriving on Belsus and aided with a group of miners, Ty was assigned to locate and free the imprisoned Bergruutfa Clan with the help of CB-3D. Wielding his blue-bladed lightsaber against hundreds of B1 battle droids, Ty felt his Master Tone die through the Force as he led the children to their escape ship. As the catastrophe on the ground distracted the Separatist Droid Army, the ship was able to make it into hyperspace without engaging enemy ships. When he arrived back on Coruscant, Ty went before the High Council to report on the unauthorized mission. Accompanied by one of the Initiates he had rescued, Allara, Ty did not ask for forgiveness and received none. Masters Mace Windu and Yoda presented the Council's judgment, expelling Ty for betraying his vows and taking vengeful action against Grievous.[1]
