Comet Squadron was a starfighter squadron that served the New Republic Defense Fleet during the early years of the New Republic. Equipped with RZ-1 A-wing interceptors, the unit was commanded by then-Colonel Edor Crespin. Former Imperial holovid star Garik "Face" Loran joined the unit after purchasing his own A-wing, but his service with the unit was short-lived. Forced to eject in order to avoid a proton torpedo blast, Loran left the squadron and then bought an X-wing for "variety," as he explained it. It is unknown if the squadron continued to exist after Crespin's promotion to General and assignment to the base on Folor, or if the unit was merely trained there and reassigned without Crespin.
