Comic strips are comics, presented in a series of strips.
A number of Star Wars comics strips were first published in newspapers by the Los Angeles Times Syndicate starting in 1979. Most of these stories were edited, colored, and reprinted in comic book form by Dark Horse Comics decades later. For more information on this series, and its later comic book reprints, see Star Wars Comic Strip.
Starting in 2004, all-new comic strips known as "webstrips" were published on StarWars.com's Hyperspace, alongside reprints of most of the original strips from the 1970s and 1980s.
In addition, starting in 2009, in honor of the 30th anniversary of the Star Wars Newspaper strips, a blog was started on blogspot.com that posted a newspaper comic a day in roughly the time period of its original release.
