Commander's glider

The commander's glider, sometimes known simply as the glider, was a hyperdrive-equipped shuttle carried aboard Chiss capital ships, for the personal use of the senior officer aboard. It was the only long-range shuttle assigned as standard to ships of the class represented by Chaf Envoy.

Because Chaf Envoy was a diplomatic ship, her glider was assigned to Aristocra Formbi rather than Captain Talshib, and was used by the Aristocra to pick up Dean Jinzler from a rendezvous with Jorj Car'das.

• Although the Chaf Envoy's glider is clearly docked in its position aboard the cruiser in Survivor's Quest, and Jinzler describes how Formbi used it to pick him up for a rendezvous, it never actually appears directly in the narrative.
