Compression blackout was a type of unconsciousness experienced when a starfighter pilot was unable to eject a crashed ship. The combined effects of the crash and the following contained air compression was enough to cause the pilot to pass out. Similar to a concussion, the compression blackout was rarely fatal. Though, if no assistance was rendered, a pilot could die within their ship when it exploded.
