[edit] History

The law on Concord Dawn were the Journeyman Protectors. The planet was caught up in the Mandalorian Civil Wars in 58 BBY. This planet was where the True Mandalorians were massacred by the Death Watch Mandalorian splinter group.

The world was home to a number of Mandalorians—Concord Dawn was the birthplace of Jango Fett as well as his mentor Jaster Mereel. Imperial Lieutenant Sheckil was also native to the planet. False rumors had it that Sheckil was the twin brother of Boba Fett.

Concord Dawn was the home to the Karatos Plague. All inhabitants of Concord Dawn were vaccinated against it at birth.

[edit] Behind the scenes

Jango Fett: Open Seasons explicitly placed Concord Dawn in the Outer Rim Territories, which matched with it possibly being in Mandalorian space. However, a map released by Dark Horse Comics at the 2006 Comic-Con placed it in the Mid Rim. No explanation has been given for the change so far.

In the third draft of the original Star Wars film, there was mention of a Battle of Condawn set during the Clone Wars, which possibly provided inspiration for Concord Dawn.

Jango's accent is described as a "Concord Dawn inflection", implying that natives of the planet have an accent similar to real-world New Zealand.

Concord Dawn is also the name used by Drum and Bass producers Evan Short and Matt Harvey, from New Zealand.
