As such, it was home to a number of governing bodies, such as the Mon Calamari Council. Following the fall of Coruscant, Coral City became home to New Republic leaders that had fled the galactic capital[1]. It acted as the temporary seat of government for the New Republic and the Galactic Alliance following the election of Cal Omas. It contained Quarren Tower.
For many years prior to his enslavement, Coral City was represented in the Mon Calamari Council and led by Ackbar.
It is possibly that by 137 ABY Coral City was destroyed, as by that year the capital city of Mon Calamari was known as New Coral City.
For much of its existence in canon, Coral City was the capital of Dac. In 2011, Dac was featured in the first three episodes of the fourth season of the Star Wars: The Clone Wars television series. In the episodes, Coral City was not featured as the capital of Dac, but instead another city was shown. It was later confirmed through the young reader novel, Star Wars: The Clone Wars: Warriors of the Deep, that Dac's capital was the city shown in the The Clone Wars episodes. This sets up a continuity error, as Coral City was said to be the capital of Dac, before, during, and after the Clone Wars. Until an official cohesive timeline is established, this article, like the Mon Calamari City article, assumes that the city shown in The Clone Wars was a capital of Dac during the Clone Wars.
