[edit] Characteristics
The Cord-class fighter was armed with a laser cannon and was often carried aboard Acclamator-class assault ships for their lack of a hyperdrive. After a battle, the starfighters were serviced by repair droids or the clone pilots themselves.
[edit] History
The young Boba Fett once went up against a squadron of these fighters over Bespin following his father's death on Geonosis. Fett first set his eyes on these starfighters in the hangar bays of the Acclamator-class ship Candaserri, which was ferrying refugees to a safe haven on Bespin. Slave I, then in the hands of Aurra Sing, followed Candaserri to Bespin.
Boba was able to board one such fighter, though eight Cord-class starfighters pursued him. He was able to lose them in one of Bespin's deadly gas storms, before heading into space to reclaim Slave I.
