Coric was a clone trooper sergeant during the Clone Wars, and part of the famed 501st Legion's Torrent Company.
[edit] Biography
As a member of Torrent Company, Coric served under Clone Captain Rex, and Jedi General Anakin Skywalker. Coric was trained as a First Aid Specialist—"FAS"—and carried a field medical kit in addition to the rest of his gear. Coric's armor was decorated in the blue color scheme of the 501st.
After the initial taking of the planet Christophsis, Coric tended to a trooper by the name of Ged, who had sustained a shrapnel injury to his shoulder during the battle. While he worked and discussed the dwindling number of supplies with Captain Rex, the Separatist droid army staged a second attack. As the fighting flared up again, Coric and Ged rushed to join Rex and Skywalker into battle against three tri-droids.
When the Battle of Christophsis was over for good, Coric would accompany Skywalker, his newly apprenticed Padawan Ahsoka Tano, along with Rex and the rest of Torrent Company, to Teth to retrieve the son of crime lord Jabba the Hutt. Surviving the initial insertion onto Teth and the subsequent climb up the vertical face of a mesa, Coric was among the small group of troopers to accompany Skywalker and Tano into the B'omarr Monastery where Jabba's son was being held. When Skywalker managed to locate and retrieve the Hutt from the monastery's detention level, Coric commented on the young Huttlet's pungent smell and stated that his father must "need a decomposing nerf as an air freshener", humorously suggesting that they stow the Huttlet in the ship's cargo hold. When the Confederacy of Independent Systems made their presence known and launched a second attack, Coric would combat the droids with the other surviving members of Torrent Company in order to buy Skywalker time to get the Huttlet to safety. When their position inside the monastery was overrun and the remaining troopers not killed in the battle were taken prisoner, Coric would join with Rex in attacking their droid captors, stealing their weapons, and reigniting the battle. In the end, he was one of just six clone troopers from Torrent Company to survive the mission, and only due to the timely arrival of Obi-Wan Kenobi and the 212th Attack Battalion.
Coric later accompanied Captain Rex on a training mission for six new clone troopers aboard Captain Gilad Pellaeon's newly refitted Acclamator-class assault ship, Leveler. When the routine shakedown cruise turned into a mission to extract Republic Intelligence agent Hallena Devis from JanFathal, Coric was present for the mission's planning meeting and made a point of reassuring Jedi Knights Callista Masana and Geith Eris. Coric would go on to pilot the anonymous shuttle the extraction team would use to infiltrate the planet's capital amidst a Separatist invasion. Despite Rex's order to leave after they had recovered the agent, Coric returned at Devis' own insistence to retrieve Rex and his men. After an unfortunate series of events that led the team back down to the planet and into yet another battle with the invading CIS presence, Coric would tend to the severe injuries sustained by one of the rookie troopers named Ince. Despite Coric's knowledge as a combat medic, Ince's wounds would prove mortal and he died despite all of Coric's best efforts.
[edit] Personality and traits
- Geith: "How low?"
- Coric: "Low enough to pick up a holozine or two on the way..."
- ―Sergeant Coric and Jedi Knight Geith[src]
Coric was a trained First Aid Specialist and an accomplished combat medic. He would also prove himself a competent pilot during his time at JanFathal. Like most clone troopers, Coric was courageous wouldn't hesitate to put himself in danger, even bending rules and orders to keep his comrades safe. Possessing a dry sense of humor, Coric maintained a friendship with his commanding officer, Captain Rex—one that seemed to only grow stronger after the tragic losses at the Battle of Teth, of which both were survivors.
