Corsair Squadron was a starfighter squadron, equipped with T-65 X-wing starfighters, that was formed by Wes Janson and Hobbie Klivian three years after the Battle of Endor. It was one of three such units (Talon, Corsair and Gauntlet) formed by the former Rogue Squadron pilots to relieve the pressure placed on the elite Squadron by Alliance High Command. Some of Corsair's pilots served in the replacement Rogue Squadron temporarily led by Hobbie, while the real Rogue Squadron took part in unsanctioned attacks on Thyferra.

Corsair Squadron served as part of General Han Solo's fleet during the search for Warlord Zsinj and his fleet, and was part of Commander Wedge Antilles' flight group during the Battle of Selaggis. During this battle, it is extremely likely that Corsair Squadron suffered heavy losses when the Second Death exploded to cover the escape of the Super Star Destroyer Iron Fist
