Gauntlet later renamed Corusca Fire was a Victory I-class Star Destroyer in the service of the Imperial Navy and the New Republic. It participated in the Second Battle of Ciutric IV under the command of General Garm Bel Iblis and later, in the Battle of Dantooine during the Yuuzhan Vong War under the command of Captain Rimsen.

Second Battle of Ciutric
Edit
Having received a signal from Admiral Ackbar, the Corusca Fire performed the Thrawn Pincer, reverting into real space behind enemy lines, along with the Selonian Fire, another New Republic Victory I-class Star Destroyer. With their combined firepower, the two Star Destroyers managed to destroy Delak Krennel's flagship, the Reckoning, killing Krennel in the process.
Battle of Dantooine
Edit
During the Battle of Dantooine the Corusca Fire, along with the Ralroost managed to fend off the Yuuzhan Vong cruiser long enough to evacuate the remaining soldiers on Dantooine.
Behind the scenes
Edit
Gauntlet is one of several names in the class-specific lists from which the video games Star Wars: Empire at War and its expansion Forces of Corruption randomly select names for capital ships. The existence of the name in this list indicates such a ship existed in the Imperial Navy at that time, but no other information is canonically available.
