Coruscant WeatherNet
Redirected from Coruscant Weather Control Network
The Coruscant WeatherNet, also the Coruscant Weather Control Network, was responsible for various weather conditions on Coruscant. During an accident involving a waste container spill and aerial dispersal, the WeatherNet canceled prevailing winds for that day.
The WeatherNet's control of the Coruscanti climate even extended to the timing of the seasons. In one instance, it responded to a request by the planet's Wildlife Commission to begin summer early in hopes of extending the mating season of Coruscant's native hawk-bat and increasing the species' population.[1]
During the Yuuzhan Vong War, much of WeatherNet's infrastructure was lost, though it most likely was rebuilt in the decades that followed.

Behind the scenes
Edit
Coruscant and the Core Worlds states that one of the instructions for the WeatherNet is "The rain may never fall until after sundown, and by eight the morning fog must disappear", concluding "the government said that's how conditions are on Coruscant." These are all lyrics, or paraphrased lyrics, from the title song of the musical Camelot.
