A counterfeiter made counterfeit items, such as forged credits, credcards and/or identification documents. They were typically associated with smugglers and other sorts of criminals who needed to hide their own identities. The skills of a counterfeiter plying his or her trade in the galaxy could usually, though not always, be measured by the amount of credits they charged for a given job. Many counterfeiters also worked as con artists, though those who attempted to con others by providing substandard forgeries at inflated prices typically met violent ends.
