The Cremlevian War was a conflict that occurred around 15,000 BBY in the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy. Originally fought to cleanse the galaxy of abominations and infidels, it quickly became a battle of dominance among various tribal groups in an effort to unify the Yuuzhan Vong into a single socio-political entity.

[edit] The War
[edit] Causes
The conflict began in the wake of the Silentium-Abominor War, in which two powerful droid species, the aforementioned Silentium and Abominor, waged war on a galactic scale. The galaxy's native organic species were caught in the crossfire, and when the war came to Yuuzhan'tar, the Yuuzhan Vong drove the invaders from their homeworld and eventually from their galaxy. The war left the galaxy devastated, birthing the Yuuzhan Vong's intense techno and xenophobia and setting the stage for another conflict, this one even greater.
[edit] The holy crusade
Following the Silentium-Abominor War, the Yuuzhan Vong, newly blessed by their beloved homeworld, began a cleansing campaign among their own people and other civilizations for territory and dominance. All those deemed inferior were swept away or absorbed into Yuuzhan Vong society as slaves. One such species was the Chazrach, reptilian humanoids who became slave shock troops in their masters' holy crusade.
During these expansive conflicts, many influential leaders emerged, and, at its conclusion, the titles of Supreme Overlord and Warmaster were established (these two ranks would be integral to all future Yuuzhan Vong organization). The galaxy remained embroiled in conflict for millennia, until finally the two strongest tribes came into direct opposition. The Cremlevian War, as it came to be known, would leave the Yuuzhan Vong galaxy in ruins.
[edit] Ygziir and the destruction of Yuuzhan'tar
The war raged across the galaxy, bringing destruction to even the furthest reaches of space. Over time the conflict turned in favor of the domain led by Steng, a brutal warmaster. Steng led his ruthless warriors on a bloody conquest, slowly pushing back the forces of Warmaster Yo'gand. With the war at its worst, and with Warmaster Steng poised for a major offensive campaign, Yo’gand unleashed a tactic that would forever alter his people’s history.
Utilizing a strong dovin basal, a creature capable of manipulating gravity, Yo’gand devised a tactic that would tear planetary bodies from their orbits, forcing them to collide with each other. During the climactic battle of the galaxy-spanning conflict, Yo’gand confronted and killed Steng in single combat. Steng’s tribal homeworld of Ygziir was destroyed in the first use of the tactic that came to be called Yo'gand's Core. The remnants of Steng’s domain quickly adopted the tactic, and soon moons were smashing into planets all across the galaxy, decimating both tribes. By war’s end, virtually every inhabitable planet in the galaxy was either destroyed or left a barren wasteland, including Yuuzhan'tar itself. When the dust settled, Steng's domain had been wiped out to the last. Yo’gand took up the mantle of Supreme Overlord of the Yuuzhan Vong, uniting the shattered remnants of Yuuzhan Vong society and embarking on a search for a new home.
[edit] The Great Doctrine
Though their galaxy was ravaged and spent, the war took a greater, more personal toll on the Yuuzhan Vong. In its death throes, the living world of Yuuzhan'tar stripped its children of their connection to the Force. Broken and lacking direction, the Yuuzhan Vong viewed pain as their only mean of restoring that lost symbiosis and in time, that worship evolved into a pantheon of terrible deities that would come to govern every aspect of their existence.
In order to cement his rule and unify his people, Supreme Overlord Yo’gand created the Great Doctrine, a decree from the gods to explain the superiority of the Yuuzhan Vong over all forms of life. Utilizing techniques given to them by the gods, the refugees constructed great worldships, leaving their galaxy behind. Setting forth into the black void between galaxies, the Yuuzhan Vong began their long search for their Chosen Land and a new homeworld.
