For other uses, see Crucible (disambiguation).

The ancient slaving organization known as The Crucible possessed a unique runic language. While the members did not speak to one another in this dialect, it was used to denote titles and monikers adopted by members of the slave ring. When a slaver was given a new name in the language, that name was tattooed on their face and upper arms in the glyphs that represented the name, known as the Flames of the Crucible.

In this language, "Chantique" meant "destroyer," "Jarael" translated to "protector," and "Bar'injar" meant "Magister Protector." The "-jar" suffix represented the term "protector."
