The Cruisemissile assault craft had two proton torpedo launchers and two laser cannons attached to its two thruster engines. The fighter had wings that unfolded upon entering a battlefield, which aided in manuverability. The fighter lacked armor and shields.^[1]

The Cruisemissile was the spearhead of the Imperial Navy, launching from Imperial-class Star Destroyers to hit Rebel military bases.The tiny craft was piloted by Cruisemissile troopers, troops picked from elite TIE fighter pilots.^[1]
