Crusader MK III armor was a version of Mandalorian armor developed by the Black Sun in the Death Watch Bunker installation during 1 ABY for use by the Galactic Empire.

During 1 ABY the members of the Black Sun realized that due to recent advances in their armor forges within the Death Watch Bunker, a unique business opportunity presented itself where the Black Sun could create and distribute different types of battle armor to both the Galactic Empire and the Rebellion by ensuring each armor type appeared distinctly different. This impacted positively for the Black Sun through increased credit flow and freedom from both factions due to the raging Galactic Civil War.
The Crusader MK III Series of armor was distributed by the Galactic Empire during the Battle of Restuss. Imperial Spacers who took part in the battle were awarded with battle commendations, which could then be traded to Imperial Commendation Officers in exchange for items such as the MK III armor or various other weaponry.
The Imperial version resembled Neo-Crusader armor previously developed over 4000 years prior.
During the Empire Day festivities of 1 ABY, Mara Jade wore the Imperial version of the armor.

This armor is one of the many items featured in Star Wars Galaxies as part of the Battle of Restuss story arc. Players received a commendation item for assisting their chosen faction during the battle, which could be stacked and traded for various items such as this armor, from Commendation Officer NPCs.
