During 1 ABY, Spacers who assisted either the Rebellion or the Empire during the Battle of Restuss and received commendations for their actions were able to requisition this sword from a factionally aligned Commendation officer.

This sword is one of the many items featured in Star Wars Galaxies as part of the Battle of Restuss story arc. Players received a commendation item for assisting their chosen faction, which could be stacked and traded for various items from Commendation Officer NPCs.
