The CryoBan grenade was a type of grenade originally designed as a form of emergency fire suppressant. Using technology adapted from the carbon freezing process, the CryoBan grenade covered those in its blast radius with supercooled chemicals, causing pain and making movement impossible. Used as a weapon, it could trap a person or object within the ice formed by the blast; the cold itself could also be lethal to living beings and damage equipment such as droids and vehicles.
