The Cryptanalysis Department was a branch of the Galactic Republic's Senate Bureau of Intelligence that was created by Director Armand Isard. Formed during the early months of the Clone Wars and led by Ilko Deminar, the Cryptanalysis Department was tasked with countering the slicers who were working for the Confederacy of Independent Systems. After the Declaration of the New Order, Crypt, as it became known, rooted out all coded messages. Lignyots, as the agents were known as, sent constant coded messages to other branches of Imperial Intelligence to keep them alert and active, all the while constantly moving their offices.
