The Crystal was a gift from Jaina's father Han Solo upon her graduation from Luke Skywalker's Jedi Praxeum.

During her first flight in the Crystal, Jaina was attacked by an insane cyborg, who inexplicably believed her antique fighter to be a new prototype. After a fierce dogfight, Jaina managed to shoot down the cyborg's X-wing.
