During the Great Galactic War and the subsequent Cold War between the Galactic Republic and the Sith Empire, the mining company and weapons manufacturer Czerka Arms owned a mining facility in the Unknown Regions. Sometime during the Cold War, however, the corporation abandoned the facility and it went unused for several years until the Child of the Emperor Valis used the facility in his attempt to recapture the former Child Kira Carsen. Lured there under the impression that Admiral Hacklin was defecting from the Empire, Carsen and her master, an unknown Jedi Knight, were able to defeat Valis despite the Child's advantage of surprise.

Behind the scenesEdit

The Czerka asteroid mining facility was created for Star Wars: The Old Republic, a massively multiplayer online role-playing game released by BioWare on December 20, 2011. It appears in the Jedi Knight class mission "The Defector", where the Knight and Kira are forced to fight Valis and the player learns of Kira's past.^[1]
