Characteristics
Edit

The original DPx yacht had a dual-engine configuration, making it exceptional powerful. The large delta-wings made it maneuverable in atmosphere. The yacht was originally not designed for scout duty.[1]
Deep-X variant
Edit
Several scout organizations, like the New Republic Scout Service, converted a number of these yachts for deep-space exploration, creating the Deep-X "Explorer". This modified design optimized the engine configuration for maximum performance: The "Explorer" had two hyperdrives and it was one of the most reliable deep space ships in the galaxy. The ion engines rivaled those of starfighter, achieving around 1,000 km/h in atmosphere.[1]
A Deep-X required a pilot and five passengers, though two of the passengers would have to serve as gunners. Explorers could carry 50 metric tons (20 cubic meters) of cargo and 6 months' consumables. They had a class 1 hyperdrive, a class 8 backup, a nav computer.[1]
For defense, the ship was equipped with a shield generator and two wing-mounted blaster cannons.[1]
History
Edit
Jedi Knight Kina Ha used a DPx for her travels and later during her hidden watch on her homeworld of Kamino.[2]
One of the modified DPx yachts, the Wild Star was owned by the used-starship dealership Fizzi's Slightly Used Ships on Trevi IV. It had been modified for even greater speed than the stock model.[3]
