The DT-17 was a model of attack droid. They were floating, orb-shaped droids which utilized a laser turret.

DT-17 attack droids were orb-shaped and floated above the ground. They were equipped with a laser turret with precise aim. The droids could be summoned via a remote control device.[1]
History[]
The Kubaz bank manager Rikard Lovas used a DT-17 to attack Deputies Drego and Streehn when they uncovered his plot to steal the electronic credits of the citizens of Niima Outpost on Jakku. The DT-17 injured Streehn and shot a blaster out of Drego's hand before Constable Zuvio destroyed the droid.[1]
