Da'Gara was a prefect of the Praetorite Vong and commander of the first worldship to enter the galaxy in 25 ABY.

Da'Gara lead their first military strike and the occupation of Helska IV, an ice-planet in the Helska system located in the Tingel Arm.
When Danni Quee, a scientist from ExGal, arrived at Helska, the Yuuzhan Vong forces captured her and locked her up deep within Helska's ice. Later Kyp Durron's student Miko Reglia plunged down with his T-65 X-wing starfighter. He was also captured but died in Yuuzhan Vong custody. When the New Republic managed an offensive against the Yuuzhan Vong, they rescued Danni Quee and destroyed the battle coordinator yammosk, both inside Helska's frozen core. They managed to melt Helska by using heat-generating mirrors, which focused sunlight to warm beams, adjusting them on Helska. The planet's ice evaporated, causing Helska IV to shatter. Da'Gara and the yammosk were killed, and the Praetorite Vong were defeated and destroyed. After losing this fight, the Yuuzhan Vong were humiliated, and accelerated their invasion.
