Dactyl

Dactyl was a yellow-colored ammonia crystal. It was essential to the survival of Arcona when away from the ammonia-rich atmosphere of their homeworld. Arcona who went without dactyl quickly faded from a green to grayish hue, shed scales, and eventually died.

Salt was known to dramatically increase an Arconan's need of dactyl.
