Daniel Thomas "Dan" O'Bannon (September 30, 1946 – December 17, 2009) was a a motion-picture screenwriter and director. George Lucas met O'Bannon while both were in the USC School of Cinema-Television, and later brought him to work on computer animation and graphic displays for Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope.
