The Dantooine Squadron was a starfighter squadron in service to the Alliance to Restore the Republic early in the Galactic Civil War prior to the Battle of Yavin. The squadron was assigned to the Rebel headquarters on Dantooine before the base was abandoned. Elements of the Dantooine Squadron, along with pilots from the Ecliptic Evaders and the Tierfon Yellow Aces, were cobbled together to form Red Squadron for the assault on the first Death Star, where they were greatly diminished.
Members of the group included Bren Quersey, Theron Nett, and squadron leader Garven Dreis. All three pilots were killed during the Battle of Yavin while flying in Red Squadron.[1]
