- "If I go down, I'm taking you with me, Captain..."
"Sorry. No blaze of glory for you, Jedi." - ―Dar'nala and Captain Sivill[src]
Dar'nala was a Togruta female that served the Galactic Republic as a Jedi Master during the Great Galactic War. At some point prior to 3,653 BBY, Dar'nala was the master of Satele Shan, a decendant of the famous Jedi Knight Bastila Shan. Shan was eventually promoted to Jedi Knight but continued to serve alongside Dar'nala. The two were dispatched to Alderaan shortly before the end of the war to represent the Jedi Order in peace talks between the Republic and the Sith Empire.

[edit] Biography
[edit] Treaty of Coruscant
- Baras: "By holding Coruscant hostage, we ensure you Jedi don't paralyze the process with deliberations. You will agree to our terms."
- Dar'nala: "You're insane Sith ! We will agree to nothing !"
- ―Baras and Dar'nala about the Treaty of Coruscant[src]
Dar'nala was one of the individuals who represented the Jedi Order in peace talks with the Sith Empire on Alderaan prior to the Sacking of Coruscant. She intervened during Satele Shan's duel with Lord Baras and asked her former apprentice to stand down, and was later chastised by Jedi Master Zym who called her attachment to her former Padawan dangerous.
Following the signing of the Treaty of Coruscant, Dar'nala and Shan were sent by Master Zym to Korriban in the Outer Rim to oversee Republic troop withdrawals in accordance with the treaty. She was angered by this as she felt that Zym was only trying to keep them out of the way, and grew even more furious when she suspected SP-99, a Sith constructed droid, of spying on their conversation.
As they were passing through the Kuat sector of the Core Worlds, the Imperial transport they were traveling on came under attack by a Sith warship. Dar'nala was quickly captured in a net by the traitorous Captain Sivill who collaborated with the Imperial commandos. However, her former Padawan escaped the ship, with SP-99 in tow, aboard an escape pod. Though she retreated at Dar'nala's urging to warn the Jedi Council of the Sith's treachery, Shan vowed to return and rescue her former Master.
[edit] Captive of the Sith
- Braden: "Why not tell him what he wants to hear?"
- Dar'nala: "Because I know the truth."
- ―Braden and Dar'nala while prisoners of the Sith[src]
Taken captive, she was imprisoned in the detention center of an Imperial transport. During her interrogation by Captain Sivill, she was subject to electric shock treatment in an attempt to force her to admit that the Envoy fired on the Sith warship first. Dar'nala refused to comply, and Sivill left, saying he would give her one last chance when he came back.
Another prisoner named Braden asked why she didn't just give Sivill what he wanted, which she replied by saying it wasn't the truth. She also said that if the Sith simply killed her for failure to cooperate, he would be the only one who knew the truth. Braden said he couldn't escape, but Dar'nala, who was too weak to escape herself, promised to help him if he told Zym and Satele what had happened. Braden agreed, and successfully escaped after assuring her he would deliver her message once he made a quick stop.
Sivill was furious that Dar'nala had helped Braden escape. He told her the punishment was death, and that he would have killed her anyway since she refused to cooperate with him. Sivill assigned Wookiee soldier Dalborra to carry out the execution, which he supposedly did by electrocuting her. However, as it turned out, Dalborra was really under Dar'nala's influence, so he faked her death.
[edit] Return on Dantooine
- Harron Tavus: "Dar'nala? Satele's master? We thought you were dead !"
- Dar'nala: "Rumors of my death will be dispelled in time. For now, anonymity allows me to work on saving the Republic from the terrible Treaty ..."
- ―Tavus and the "resurrected" Dar'nala[src]
Later, she reappeared on Dantooine, having survived to the tortures of the Sith, but bearing terrible scars. She worked with Fortris Gall in order to neutralize the effect of the treaty, while blaming it on Baras.
