Daranas
- "Yes. I feel like the mythological seer Daranas, from Alderaan—I can see the future, but no one will believe my warnings."
- ―Barriss Offee
Daranas was a seer who, according to Alderaanian mythology, had intense visions of the future. However, the people whom Daranas told about these visions refused to believe them. In 20 BBY, Jedi Padawan Barriss Offee compared her situation at the Republic Mobile Surgical Unit 7 on the planet Drongar to the problem Daranas encountered. Like the seer, Offee knew that an attack would happen, although no one believed her.[1]
Behind the scenes
Edit
Daranas was briefly mentioned in MedStar II: Jedi Healer, the second novel of the MedStar Duology. Published in 2004, Jedi Healer was written by Michael Reaves and Steve Perry.[1] Daranas bears a resemblance with the seer Cassandra in the Greek mythology, as the visions of both were deemed to be not correct by the people they told about them.[2]
