The Dark Acolytes were a group of loosely organized Dark Jedi during the Clone Wars.

These Force-sensitives were assembled and trained by Darth Tyranus to lead the armies of the Confederacy of Independent Systems and to provide a Force-sensitive opposition to the Jedi Order. Some of them were originally Jedi seduced to the dark side of the Force by Tyranus himself. One of the most prominent of the Dark Acolytes was Asajj Ventress.
Dark Acolytes often used Sith Enforcer battle tanks on the battlefield. Each of these craft were armed with a pair of supercharged blaster cannons and two missile launchers. Though effective in one-on-one attacks, Dooku insisted that they travel in groups of three for improved effectiveness.
As the Dark Acolytes were not trained in the secrets of the Sith, neither Tyranus nor his master, Darth Sidious, considered them a violation of Darth Bane's Rule of Two.
